Mechanical & Metallurgical Testing
Our Mechanical Test Facility has been designed to meet the demands of all sectors of manufacturing industry. It incorporates preparation and testing equipment and can cater for all your testing requirements including:-
Tensile - Ambient and elevated temperatures
Impact - Charpy and Izod tests at elevated, ambient and sub-zero temperatures
Hardness - Vickers diamond, Rockwell (hrb + hre)and Brinell.
Proof - Tests on single items, or large
Loading - batches, up to 50 tonnes capacity
Metallurgy - Macro & Micro sections; bend and fracture inspections
Test Pieces can be collected from the Customer's site free of charge within a local radius.
Welding Procedure and Welder Approval Testing
Here at Solus Testing we specialise in the approval testing of welding procedures and welding operators to a variety of British and International Standards including:
BS EN ISO 15614-1: 2019 * BS EN ISO 9606 * BS 4872 * ASME IX

Solus Testing can provide a comprehensive Non-Destructive Testing Service, utilising any one of the following methods:-
Ultrasonic Inspection
Radiographic Testing
Magnetic Particle Inspection
Liquid Penetrant Inspection
Visual Inspection
All of these services are available on-site at your premises or at Solus Testings base at Creswell.
All inspection personnel are approved to nationally recognised schemes such as C.S.W.I.P, P.C.N, ASNT, BRITISH GAS.
Our Radiation Protection Supervisors will ensure all aspects of radiation safety are met while carrying out radiographic tesing at your works.
